Saturday morning, coffee in hand, I looked over the fence and caught my neighbor, Asha, snipping bright red chard leaves from what I’d always thought was just her flower border. She waved the stalks at me like a bouquet and laughed, “Breakfast” .That moment—watching colorful veggies blend right into a typical suburban landscape—was my first real‑life encounter with foodscaping. It felt a little rebellious and a lot genius. Why hide the vegetables in the backyard when they can live up front, look gorgeous, and feed you too?
