Ritu Lalit is a Gold Medalist from the Guwahati University in English Literature. She was born in Delhi and raised all over India, especially in the north eastern parts of India. She has done her masters in English Literature from the University of Delhi. Apart from writing novels, she also works as a General Manager in Lakhani Armaan Group of Industries. She has been writing since her teens, and has short stories published in CBSE text books. Her major breakthrough was with her short stories published in Rippls, a compilation by Prashant Karhade. This was swiftly followed in 2011 by her full length novel A Bowlful of Butterflies (Rupa&Co.) being long-listed for the Crossword Book Awards. In the second quarter of 2012, her second book, Hilawi (Popular Prakashan), a fantasy thriller has been released and is much acclaimed. Holding a post graduate diploma in Business Administration, she has worked in reputable corporate organizations. She blogs at “Weaving A Web” on http://phoenixritu.com and her blog has an international following, winning several awards and mentions. A post on the plight of women in the country has been extensively quoted and linked by Hungarian and other newspapers.
